University Policy Library
About The University Policy Library
The University Policy Library is the official source for the policies governing the academic, administrative, financial, operational, and business affairs of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.   The library holds policies in eight functional-based sections; subsections further define the topic areas within a given section.  The Policy Library will be maintained and updated by the Office of the Secretary of the University.  As we are in the process of moving all policies to a new policy template, some policies may appear in this new format, while others may be partly in the new template and partly in the old policy model.  For more information on the policy process, see University Policy 50.1.13, Formulation and Issuance of University Policies.

The Policy Library listing can be used for locating information on specific subjects.  The search engine function can also help you locate a specific policy or topic area within the policy library web site.  Each policy has an assigned number that includes the section heading number, a subsection number, and a policy number.  For example, the policy on Establishment of Academic Units is under Section 10/Academic Matters-Subsection 10.1, and has been assigned as policy number one, thus University Policy 10.1.1.  In addition, the policy library listing provides a cross-reference to the former book number (in accordance with the University Regulations and Procedures Manual), as well as individuals and offices that play key roles in policy development, revision, administration, and approval.
