About the Policy Library

The University Policy Library is the official source for the policies, approved by the university's Board of Governors, the Board of Trustees and/or executive officers, governing the academic, clinical, administrative, financial, operational, and business affairs of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.  The library holds policies in ten functional-based sections; subsections further define the topic areas within a given section. Under the tab “View Policies”, there are three sections:

           a) Table of Contents can be used for locating information on specific subjects,
           b) Alphabetical List can be used for locating policies by words in its title, and
           c) Recent Policy Updates provides access to current and previous versions of recently updated
               policies in chronological date order.

The search engine function can also help you locate a specific policy or topic area within the policy library website. Policies are written utilizing a policy template to provide information in a consistent format. For information on the policy process, see University Policy 50.1.13, Formulation and Issuance of University Policies.

The Policy Library is maintained and managed by the Office of the Secretary of the University.  Questions about the process for developing policies or requests for current and historical versions of university policies should be directed to the Office of the Secretary of the University at secretary@oq.rutgers.edu. or 848-932-7434.
