Rutgers University Policy Library

University Policy Library

The University Policy Library is a compilation of regulations and policies approved by the university’s Board of Governors, the Board of Trustees, the President and executive officers to:

  • enhance missions and strategic goals;
  • reduce institutional risks and enhance internal controls;
  • establish delegation of authority and responsibility;
  • promote compliance with federal, state and other applicable laws and regulations;
  • promote operational alignment, consistency and efficiency

The Library includes board policies and certain academic, administrative, financial, operational, and business policies. These policies have broad application throughout the university and include requirements or constraints and establish boundaries for conduct for the University community: faculty, staff, students, guests, and visitors.

Effective July 1, 2013, The New Jersey Medical and Health Sciences Education Restructuring Act provided for most schools and units of UMDNJ to be transferred to Rutgers.  Although University policies apply to all members of the Rutgers community, including students, faculty and staff of legacy UMDNJ schools, some additional policies, which were adopted from the former UMDNJ policy library, also apply to Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS).  Please refer to the RBHS Policy Library for those policies that apply only to students, faculty, and staff within legacy UMDNJ schools (Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Jersey Medical School, School of Nursing (formerly UMDNJ School of Nursing), School of Health Related Professions, School of Public Health, Graduate School of Biomedical Science, and Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (formerly New Jersey Dental School).
